6 Top Fitness Gift Ideas For This Christmas!
Who do you know that’s tricky to buy for? We all know someone who is either fussy, has everything they need or is too polite to ask for what they really want. This year, we’re here to help – if you know someone who’s keen on exercise, or keen to be keen on exercise.
Buying someone a fitness gift might feel like a bit of a cop out, but keeping fit and exercising is fun and can be made even more fun with the right workout gifts! Here’s our top six ideas…
- Workout gear will always go down well, because who doesn’t love new leggings?! Leggings, sports bras, hoodies, vest tops, even socks; they’re everywhere now from specialist online retailers to high street shops and even supermarkets. Take a sneak in their workout drawer if you can, to make sure you get their sizing right – sports gear is often tricky to gauge otherwise as most of it is designed to be worn fairly tight. Our advice is to avoid buying trainers for someone else though, as these are usually quite specific to the wearer – unless you know exactly what brand they love to wear.
- A reusable water bottle ticks both the hydration and the eco box. It’s especially ideal for someone who perhaps isn’t great at remembering to drink water throughout the day. Make it a fancy, colourful, stylish one and they’ll be proud to carry it with them all day.
- A set of weights might be a little difficult to hide under the Christmas tree but they make an excellent fitness present (once you’ve worked out how to wrap them). Dumbbells are especially useful because they come in a range of different weights and a set of various weights will come in handy for using during different exercises and to different abilities as your giftee progresses and gets stronger.
- A foam roller is another great idea, especially for someone who does a lot of exercise and feels the aches and pains. It provides a definite pleasure-pain experience but helps to ease stiff, sore muscles by helping to stretch and release tension caused by general life and working as well as delayed onset muscle soreness, or DOMS, which is the muscles soreness often felt after exercise.
- If you’re feeling generous, a smart watch is an excellent choice for someone into keeping fit, or someone new to exercise. They range in price and what they can do, but most connect to a user’s smartphone and will monitor steps, heart rate, exercise and calories burned. All great for tracking fitness and progress.
- And finally, a subscription to Own Your Goals, obviously! You know how great it is here, with the fitness classes and challenges we create for you to keep things exciting (how’s your 6 Weeks to Fitmas going?!).
