Our Top 5 Gift Ideas That Won’t Break The Bank This Father’s Day

  • This year, Father’s Day is on Sunday 19th June when we celebrate our fathers and the father figures that have influenced our lives to make us who we are today. Whether they’ve had a protective role, taught us our trades, encouraged our hobbies and studies or taken on a traditional ‘motherly’ role, they deserve to be recognised, so we’ve put together this list of gift ideas that are great if you’re on a budget!
    • If your dad loves reading and current affairs, then combine his love of both and arrange a subscription to a topical magazine. The Week, the Spectator and Private Eye are great for giving a rounded perspective. Or choose a subscription that matches his loves and hobbies and each week he’ll be able to keep up with all the things that are going on in his world.
      • Photographs hold such treasured memories, but these days we tend to take hundreds on our phones and aside from social media posts, we don’t look at them again! So choose some from recent times and use an online photo printing service to get them printed out in all their glory. You can get them made into a photobook or make your own and add in some personal words telling him how much he means to you. It’ll be a sentimental keepsake he can treasure forever.
        • Own Your Goals isn’t just a place for women, men are invited to join in the fun too! Admittedly, the majority of our OYG Warriors are female, but we do have some male warriors, so why not buy your dad the gift of getting fit at home? With immediate access to more than 600 workouts and challenges and countless recipes and articles, he’ll be more than welcome here.
          • Talking of recipes, if your dad is a foodie, then why not create him a hamper of goodies that he can use to get creative in the kitchen? You can pick up a basket in a craft shop and then fill it with his favourite ingredients to cook with. If he loves to experiment, choose some different ingredients he’s never used before. You can often find unusual herbs, spices and other cooking ingredients in the world foods aisles in supermarkets and in specialist shops.
            • The gift of time is perhaps the greatest gift of all, especially after all the hardship and separation over the Covid lockdown periods. So create a book of handwritten IOUs that promise him some time spent wth you and other loved ones. A trip to the seaside, a cultural visit to a museum or stately home, a home cooked roast dinner or a walk in the woods are all lovely ideas for spending quality time together.

Your father, father figure, grandfather, uncle or the man that guides you through life deserves a special treat this Sunday, so let him know how loved he is. If your dad is sadly no longer with you, we’re sending loving thoughts your way.
