Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Chicken
Ingredients
- 600g chicken breast, cut into chunks
- 1 onion, peeled and cut into chunks
- 3 red peppers, cut into chunks
- 435g tinned pineapple
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 garlic cloves
- 4 tbsp honey
- 4 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 tsp ground ginger
How to Make It
Place the chicken, onion, tomato puree, soy sauce, garlic, honey, white wine vinegar, ground ginger and the juice from the pineapple in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 3 hours.
Once cooked, place the cornflour into the slow cooker and combine so it makes a paste.
Add the brown sugar, peppers and tinned pineapple. Place back on high for 30 minutes and serve with rice.
